We moved into our new house 3 weeks ago, there's lots to be done but it already feels like home. The house is 130 years old and has been neglected (externally) over the past decade or so. There's going to be lots of building work and I imagine a lot of mess, but it really will be worth it! Here's a photo of my new studio space, the first room to be completed.
I'm trying to get a few creative projects finished before we move house. This little piece of furniture has sat in my parents' garage for years. The top was slightly damaged (nothing a bit sandpaper couldn't fix) the rest was in lovely condition, just a little bland. So I sanded and painted it, and am now in the process of roughing it up a bit to try and get a nice shabby chic finish.
If you are in need of any wedding stationary or custom invites, please check out my wonderful sister in law's newly launched etsy shop. Alternatively you can keep up to date with her work via Facebook.
I recently spent some time making myself a fox mask for a fancy dress party. The theme was film stars and characters, so I picked one of my favourites, the Fantastic Mr Fox. I made the mask using fake fur, wire, acrylic paint and lots of hairspray, topped off with a little plastic nose.
We found an old cast iron fireplace whilst out and about in Barnard Castle, a little bit of tlc and we are left with a beautiful feature for our new home, although we probably shouldn't be buying things until we move in.
