Precious things...
I really love stuff, stuff with memories attached, stuff that other people look at and have no idea why you've kept it, stuff that takes you straight back to a place, a feeling, a special person, and for those reasons makes you smile. I do however have a tendency to hoard, and that's why our collection of nice bits and bobs is confined to our display cabinet. Here are some of our treasures.

Garden Green...
Today I made a small concertina book and filled it with little swatches showing the various shades of green found within the garden/allotment scene, naming them after the plants and features they adorn.

Rainwater harvest...
Rusty mesh with a little verse running through it, regarding it's previous purpose of acting as a rainwater tank guard in the allotment I visited.
Lots of leaves...
Potato printed, scanned, printed onto green card, cut out and assembled, job done!

Been making a bark like texture out of some bits of card and paper. Also acquired a wonderful piece of rusty mesh!

'The bird a nest, the spider a web, man friendship' - William Blake...
Another piece of work relating to my allotment inspired artist's book. I created a rectangular frame from twigs, and wove a web between them, adding a few pearly beads of rain.

Everybody look at the moon...
Rather beautiful tangerine moon this chilly eve, ever so slightly blurred, but not too bad considering the tripod has gone AWOL x

Moss...
As previously mentioned I am currently producing a few pieces of work based around an allotment. Little verses, collage and textural experiments all produced in reaction to the environment, eventually to be complied in an artist's book, and to be used as inspiration in the production of my final work. Basically this is a very small step within my MA journey. This was created as a reaction to moss and was made using paper, oil pastel and soft pastel shavings, paint and pva glue.

Feeding the birds...
Except they didn't eat it. Oh well, one can but try. I had to take a photo before replacing the offering as the colours and textures were really rather beautiful.

Back in love with illustration...
After a brief fall out myself and illustration have made up. Out of nowhere I am all of a sudden overly enthusiastic? Waking up with ideas, buzzing with creativity, back on track me thinks. Huge sigh of relief. This is the very beginnings of an artist's book I am creating in response to an allotment, it is another source of experimentation/inspiration for the project I am currently working on for my MA. Expect to hear a lot more from me these coming months.
Recent pet portrait...
A lengthy absence yet again, apologies! Had a little bit of an 'off' spell to be honest. I think I'm back on form now though. Hope you are all well x
